Double bassist and composer Arjun Ramdas grew up in India, where early training in Carnatic music shaped his rhythmic sensibility. After exploring metal and rock, he discovered his true voice in jazz, blending diverse influences into a sound both intricate and grounded.Since moving to The Hague in 2020 to study Jazz Double Bass at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Arjun has developed under the guidance of Dutch jazz masters and international artists alike. His versatility and musical insight have led to collaborations with leading musicians across Europe, earning recognition at festivals and competitions such as Grachten, Heerlen Jazz, Fara Music, Barga Jazz, and Concorso Bettinardi.Performing at venues like the Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw, and Umbria Jazz Festival, Arjun has shared the stage with renowned artists including Erik Ineke, Felix Scharlman, Enrico Le Noci, Pietro Mirabassi, Xavier Hellmeir, Tivon Pennicott, Theo Jackson, Ife Ogunjobi etc captivating audiences across Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Latvia, Germany, Greece, Morocco, Italy, and Belgium.
